Warlocks and You - The Guide to the Destro Warlock LEECHE ADDITION

Alright folks, this week I have decided to settle the arguement between deep Afflic. and deep Destro builds when it comes to raiding. Obviously I am in favor of the Destro Warlock and I will explain as to why. I will admit that the affliction lock does have more survivability due to the fact that he can bounce around, keeping steady dps while he races through fires and all that but it doesn't benefit from the immense SP and Crit chance of the Destro warlock as well as the burst damage when it comes down to figures. In this, I will be discussing the proper table + gemming/enchants and a bit into why I chose SL instead of the rest for my Destro build.

Alright, first of all the proper table aka your rotation. A Destro lock should be running in this exact order :

Immolate + Curse (Of Elements or Doom) + Conflag. + Chaos Bolt + Incinerate

The reason for this? You want that Curse down in between the CD while your conflag. resets and becomes an active spell, then you go right into a CB and then spam incinerate until your conflag/CB are back off CD or you have to replenish Immolate. Now when replenishing immolate, to max out the DPS(Damage Per Second) from it's DoT(Damage over Time) you want to replenish it right after it falls off the boss/mob. When you do it early you are actually decreasing your damage from the boss because you have to wait those few seconds after applying to get the first tick of damage in. That last couple of seconds while waiting could and should be an incinerate/conflag/CB depending what is on CD. Locks are about priority and in this case it would be: Conflag > CB > Incinerate > Immolate. The reason I put Immolate on the back end again is because it has to finish its final tick or else you lose the damage.

Gemming for Warlocks is easy. You want to maximize your SP so the runed cardinal rubies as well as the Dreadstone with + sp and + spirit will work just fine. Your meta will be + crit and + crit damage due to the fact that you will be criting a lot. Your enchants will follow as the same, +10 stats on chest, Icewalker on boots, then SP all the way around on what else remains. If you NEED to make your hit rating, socket some hit gems in your gear until you can get it up from your actual gear. I recommend the shard that comes from Emblems. The trinket increases hit by 120 and allows you to increase your haste by 500.

Alright, for my reason on why I picked SL I will explain it simply. You open up room to not use Glyph of Life Tap and put in an extra + damage like Incin. or Immolate. You also open up to more DPS because you don't have to constantly mitigate mana regen. with life tap and focus more on spamming the heck out of Incinerate while you wait for stuff to get off cooldown. Overall I find that with a good Shammy/Pally putting their mana regen. stuff down, you won't have to Lifetap at all through any boss.

Until next week, this is Ero signing out.
